Minions are yellow henchmen, who have existed since the beginning of beginning, evolving from a yellow single-cell organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve the most ambitious villains. After their masters were destroyed, they decide to isolate themselves from the world and start a new life in Antarctica. Sometime in the 60s, the lack of a master drives them into depression, so bravest minion and two other volunteers set out to find a new one. They arrive at a villain convention, where they compete for the right to be henchmen for Scarlet Overkill, a stylish and ambitious villain determined to dominate the world and become the first female super-villain.

2015 Minion Movie SPOILERS and RELEASE

Posted by Dave on April 27, 2014 at 11:55 AM Comments comments (2)

OH MY BAPPLE

A new film called 'The Minions' is coming out sooner than soon

In this prequel “The Minions,” the footage revealed that they evolved from yellow single-cell organisms in the ocean and finally evolved to be as minions during the time of dinosaurs. The minions are always attracted to the most villainous creatures in order to serve them. However, their villainous masters will meet with some unusual end. Some of the masters include T-Rex, an Egyptian pharaoh, a medieval monarch, Attila the Hun and even Dracula.

But sometime later, they became masterless and lived in the artic to succumb into depression. Three brave minions, Kevin, Bob and Stuart, will set out in a journey to seek out a new diabolical master.

It’s obvious that this is the story in search for Gru (Steve Carell) as their new master villain. But, super-villains of Scarlett and Herb Overkill (Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm) will compete against Gru.

“The Minions” is scheduled for theatrical release on July 10 next year.

The Minions is due out in 2015, and goes retro with the story, flashing back to a time pre-Gru. As Meledandri reveals, it goes even further back than first thought… “We start the Minions film at the dawn of time, when they're Minion single-celled creatures and it takes us all the way up to the 1960s in London and New York.

“The Minions' goal always has been to serve the biggest, baddest villain they can find. But over the years they've inadvertently ended up killing their own leader through happenstance. The movie does become their quest for a new leader and their target becomes the first female supervillain, Scarlett Overkill, voiced by Sandra Bullock.”

“When we feel like Gru's story is complete, we'll stop making the movies, but right now, what ends up happening is that as we explore stories, there's so much left to tell. Leaving the last film he's married, he's raising the girls, he has completed this work where all of a sudden where he was working on the side of good. But there's just a lot more that collectively, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio and Pierre Coffin are finding is interesting to explore.”

The Minions will jabber into cinemas on June 26 next year. Despicable Me 2, meanwhile, is up for Best Animated Film at the Oscars and one of only two films, along with Frozen, to feature in the animated and Best Original Song category.

The Countdown is on then minions and don't forget to keep your eyes peeled!

YAY!!!! DESPICABLE ME 2 ROCKS CINEMAS!

Posted by Dave on July 8, 2013 at 11:55 AM Comments comments (2)

Suddenly, minions are mighty.

The jabbering yellow sidekicks of Despicable Me 2 powered the animated family film to $82.5 million this weekend, handily winning the  July Fourth holiday weekend, according to studio estimates from Hollywood.com.

The opening trounced Johnny Depp's The Lone Ranger, which limped through the holiday at $29.4 million.

Both films were released Wednesday, but that's the only similarity between the animated sequel and the $225 million Disney Western, which could become one of the year's biggest flops. Through the first five days of release, Steve Carell's Despicable Me 2 has made $142.1 million, the highest five-day debut on record for an animated film. It eclipses 2010's Toy Story 3, which collected $141 million in its first five days. The Lone Ranger, meanwhile, has come off the rails with a $48.8 million gross since Wednesday. Analysts had expected that number to be twice as big by the end of the weekend.

Critics and fans were decidedly on the minions' side. Three-fourths of the nation's critics recommended Despicable Me 2, and 89% of fans enjoyed it, according to pollsters Rottentomatoes.com. The movie earned an A from fans, according to CinemaScore.

Less than one in four critics gave The Lone Ranger a thumbs-up, compared with a mediocre 68% of fans, the site says.

The animated debut "bodes well for the minions spinoff" movie set for Dec. 19, 2014, says Tim Briody of Boxofficeprophets.com.

Ray Subers of Box Office Mojo says the franchise flourished with a canny marketing campaign.

Well Done Minions! Remember the minions movie coming out in December 2014!!!!!
